YOUTUBE MADE ME BUY IT

I love reading these sorts of posts because I can normally relate to almost every product people talk about! As you'll know if you read my blog, I love a bit of YouTube, there is so much amazing content being created on there every day and I love finding new products and picking up tips and tricks when I watch it. Of course, this often leads to me buying said products which can often be detrimental to the old bank balance, but sometimes the hype is just too much to resist! I've actually been pretty good recently, but I thought I'd share with you a few of the beauty products that YouTube has been fully responsible for encouraging me to buy.

The picture above is a load of stuff that I've purchased mainly because I'd heard of it on YouTube/blogs, but I'm not going to go through all of these in one post because that would be very long! This isn't even all of the products I've bought because it's been recommended, but I'll certainly do another post like this because it's fun to see if I'm the only one (which I'm SURE I'm not)!

Look how old and used my Naked palettes are looking, please forgive me! I've had the original Urban Decay Naked Palette for at least four years now, a few of the colours I've completely used up, but some of them are still going strong and I do still reach for it when I'm doing my makeup for an evening event. The Naked Basics palette I use very frequently, almost everyday probably and I really need to get a new one as they're all getting extremely low now. Finally, the Naked Concealer was one I picked up whilst I was in New York and I have to say I'm not in love with it. Firstly I think the shade I have is a bit too light for me which I think is what makes it difficult to work with, but I find the texture really quite drying when I'm applying it (it's a fast dryer so you have to work pretty quickly) so I think combined with the shade being a bit off I don't enjoy using it. I really want to try the Nars Creamy Concealer to compare it to this because I'm definitely after something more hydrating. That being said, I don't find that the Urban Decay one looks dry throughout the day, but application is half of the enjoyment of makeup (am I right?) and every time I go to use this I dread having to blend it out!

The L'Oreal range of affordable face masks had a huge advertising campaign when they were released so I can't really solely blame YouTube for this one, but I did see a lot of people talking about them and recommending them. This is the detox version of the mask and I picked it up when it was on offer last year for (I think) a fiver. I really like this mask, it's one of those charcoal masks where you can actually see the oil being drawn out of your pores, which I find immensely satisfying, and it leaves your skin feeling very soft and clean. For the price you can't really go wrong (although it is quite fragranced so beware if you're sensitive) so I would recommend.

These three are YouTube/blog classics if I ever did see one! The Clarins facial tanner is going back at least 5 years, I remember when everyone and their mum were talking about this and at the time it seemed like an absolute life essential! I remember buying this along with Alpha H Liquid Gold from Cult Beauty and feeling like my life had been made! Thankfully, this has stood the test of time and I still use it all the time (not the same bottle, don't worry), especially now that we're getting into the warmer months (pah). It gives the most subtle hint of warmth to the skin but imparts a real glow and healthy look to the skin.
Next the Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask was a big fave when it was released (2-3 years ago?). The Una Brennan range is lovely and pretty affordable, I've also used the cleansing oil before which was lovely and this mask is nice, if not groundbreaking. For moisture I prefer one of the three hydrating masks I spoke about in my previous post but this is nice if you're on a budget and like a creamy face mask.
Finally, something that has got to be one of the most hyped products of all time; The Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. What a beauty. The amount of times I heard this mentioned when it was at its most hyped was insane, and I know a lot of people have mixed reviews on this one as it can come up quite orangey on some, however, I honestly have never had a bad experience with it. I am pretty fair but I don't find that it looks orangey on my skin, it just gives a lovely glow, it's great for bronzing up, whether you want to be a bronzey, beach goddess, or just add a subtle hint of sunkissed-healthy-just been on a walk in the hills-glow, this is the one for you. It also lasts forever, I've had mine for about two years now and have barely dented the surface.
So, there we have it, just a few of the products that I've bought because of the YouTube/blog hype! I'm sure we've all succumbed before and will do again, but let's face it, it's just a bit of fun and you get to discover some great products along the way! Let me know anything you've bought because of the hype or if you've used any of these products and what you thought of them!
