NEW YORK HONEYMOON: DAY FOUR

After the mammoth walk on day 3 we were both pretty tired and achey, so we wanted to take it a bit slower on day 4 and we had some plans for later on in the day, so we decided to just have a wander around the mid-town area where we were based and also tick off a few more of the food goals we had (because everyone loves a food goal). We had to make sure we got a bagel from one of the street vendors and also a big slice of pizza, both of which we succeeded in acquiring, which made me very happy. We did some general wandering around and ticked off a few more places of interest, The Waldorf Astoria, Serendipity cafe, Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Av. I didn't take loads of pictures from day four looking back, so I'm going to put in some really bad pictures of us eating food to make up for it.

We did have something really fun planned for the evening, however, something which we booked online whilst out there - an evening at the Rockefeller Centre with ice skating and dinner. It was a great package deal as the Rock Centre Cafe is lovely and perfect for a special occasion so after heading back to the hotel to spruce up a bit we went to go get our skates on! It was so much fun, apart from the fact the ice skates I chose were definitely too small so I couldn't feel my feet by the end, it really was a fabulous experience. When we arrived we even made it in perfect time to see a man propose to his girlfriend in the middle of the skating rink, it was amazing! We did manage to capture it on film so I'm going to share it over on Instagram for you to see - it was so cute. Again, I didn't really get any great photos (we took a lot of footage on the GoPro) but of course I did get a picture of the epic cheesecake I had at the end of the meal - it was amazing and absolutely huge - and another food goal ticked off! I also had a couple of great gin cocktails which went down a treat after being out in the freezing cold - perfect combination!

I'm clearly REALLY enjoying that cheesecake.

I would highly recommend going skating if you go to New York in the winter months, it was a really special memory and it was topped off by the lovely meal we had after. I'm sure there must have been more things of note that we did this day, but without the pictures to jog the old memory I honestly can't remember, it was the day we needed though to just wander around and see some more of mid-town area without walking too far. Tomorrow is far more exciting I promise so keep your eyes peeled!
