I will be honest with you, I am definitely at the beginning of my spiritual journey. Since October of last year I have been delving head first into the realms of all things spiritual, astrological, lunar, crystally etc. I don't know where this desire to learn more and surround myself with this information has come from, (I now of course realise it was the universe sending me the signals to do so), I mentioned something last year to a friend about wanting to meditate more and generally try to become a better, more patient, present person, and this has since evolved into where I am now. I genuinely can't get enough of this stuff, everything I'm reading is fascinating me, the ideas and information that are out there are seriously resonating with me and I feel excited all the time about the possibilities of what the Universe holds.
There are thousands and thousands of books out there on everything spiritual, but I wanted to share just a few that I've been really into recently and that have been providing a great understanding of what is an incredibly vast and diverse subject. I won't lie, it's still completely overwhelming the amount of information out there and the variety of ways to get in touch with your spiritual side, I've only just made the slightest scratch on the surface, but I am excited and open to learning as much as I can. If you have any recommendations of books surrounding spirituality, astrology, lunar cycles, crystals, meditating, channelling etc etc then please do let me know as I would LOVE to give them a read. There are loads that are currently on my to-be-read list but there are only so many hours in the day!

Astrology and the cycles of the moon are where this all started for me. My pretty sudden interest in all things spiritual happened about five days before a new moon was due to occur and I threw myself in, setting intentions, lighting incense and palo santo-ing the sh*t out of my house ready to feel the energy of this fascinating time. I didn't really know what I was doing to start with (still don't really, so much to learn!) but honestly couldn't deny that there was something in the air that night, sitting quietly by myself meditating, feeling the energy that a new moon brings to us all.
Since then I've been reading as much as I can about the moon and her cycles and this was definitely one the books that helped loads, it's got heaps of information on the moon and loads of step-by-step guides to manifesting with the moon and harnessing her power. A great read to dip your toes into.
Feeling a bit like you're out there on your own and a like people are giving you the side eye for going on about crystal energy and channelling your spirit guides? Well, look no further than this fantastic guide. It feels like a friend is talking to you and guiding you through what, possibly, every soul searcher goes through when first embarking upon this journey. Emma takes you through section by section a lot of the different ways to connect to your spiritual side, giving you relatively mainstream options (yoga etc.) to some more woo-woo rituals you can incorporate into your life to truly start connecting to your Higher Self.
3. Astrology by Yasmin Boland
I'm not completely finished with this yet (and I'll definitely keep referring back to it even when I have) but already have SO much more knowledge about the world of astrology. This book lays out the fundamental information you need to read and understand your own birth chart, as well as moving on to more complicated information about comparing charts and delving deeper to explore what astrology can mean for you personally. I know astrology isa bit of a contentious subject with a lot of people and can be grossly misunderstood by people, but truly, once you start looking into what those weird signs and symbols actually mean and you start relating it back to yourself and your life, it gets kind of addictive. This is a great place to start your journey of gaining a deeper understanding of the stars up above.
4. Material Girl, Mystic World by Ruby Warrington
Written in a similar way to The Soul Searcher's Handbook, Material Girl, Mystic World sounds like one of your good friends is chatting to you and giving you truly invaluable information at the same time. With some hilarious anecdotes of Ruby's journey into spiritualism, she introduces various aspects of this world in a funny, accessible and truly exciting way. Every time I picked this one up I just wanted to start doing whatever it was she was taking about, be it performing a tarot reading just to see if I should have sweet potatoes or beans for dinner (she said start small with the questions!) or trying to find a seance I could attend in sleepy Lincolnshire, this one will definitely leave you feeling inspired and motivated each and every time.
5. Supernature: A Natural History of the Supernatural by Lyall Watson
This fascinating look into the science behind the 'supernatural', exploring the non-negotiable fact of the moon (and possibly the other planet's) effects on our life here on earth to energy fields' effects on mummification. The author explains everything in a very matter-of-fact way, providing numerous examples and experiments to either back up or detract from the points he is making. Throughout the book you definitely get the feeling that the author himself is simply going through an investigation of sorts, being neither convinced or the possibilities of supernatural activity, nor closed to the idea either. It's a great book to look into some more of the scientific reasoning behind some of the more fascinating phenomena here on Earth.
6. Crystal Muse by Heather Askinosie and Timmi Jandro
I first came across Energy Muse, the website, from The Balanced Blonde's podcast which featured Heather and Timmi. It was a fascinating discussion about all things spiritual, including, of course, lots and lots of crystal goodness. There is SO much to learn about crystals, there are literally hundreds of different ones and they can all help with different things and so it can be quite overwhelming when you're first starting out, however, this book gives you all of the information you could need, including information on the individual crystals, as well as how to use them in rituals or day-to-day. I haven't gone through the whole of this book yet, I've been flicking now and then so far, but it is a goal of mine this week to sit down and truly take the time to let the information sink in and definitely perform one of the rituals they talk about.
